Welcome to FS1 where your learning journey begins. The days are full of fun, laughter, lots of time outside and getting messy. We can’t wait to welcome you to our beautiful school.
Meet your teacher
Mrs Farnell
Hello, my name is Mrs Farnell and I am the nursery teacher at Sandhill. I have worked at Sandhill for 14 years and have loved helping so many children begin their school journey. I have two boys who are six and two, we have lots of fun together and enjoy going on days out and spending time together as a family. I love reading and can’t wait to share lots of stories with you.

Hello. My name is Miss Peel and I will be your teacher on Mondays,Thursdays and Fridays. I have two children and we love going to the park and having picnics. At home I like gardening and grow lots of fruit, vegetables and flowers. This is my first year at Sandhill and I can’t wait to get to you know you all and have lots of fun.
Meet your teaching assistant
Mrs Raj Sahota
Hi my name is Mrs Raj Sahota. I joined Sandhill Primary School in November 2022. I Have a beautiful son who recently graduated from Sandhill. I love reading and crafting. I am currently working in foundation stage as a teaching assistant.
Class Information
We use Dojo to share photos of your child’s experiences in nursery, you can also share any achievements and special occasions from home. The children love to show their friends what they have been doing outside of nursery too. Children will need to bring a water bottle labelled with their name and appropriate clothing. We go outside come rain or shine so it’s a great idea to leave a pair of wellies at nursery for when you need them!
Areas of Learning
In nursery we learn through play. Our homely learning environment has lots for children to explore and our outside area is a great place for adventures. Our learning is centred around stories and the children’s interests. Regular circle times provide children with valuable communication skills and we have daily phonics sessions to help children become confident readers. In nursery we have lots of fun and make lasting memories.
