World Book Day 2026

On Thursday 5th March, everyone at Sandhill came together to celebrate World Book Day 2026. The day began with a special breakfast session with parents, setting a wonderful start to the celebrations. Throughout the day, children dressed up in creative costumes inspired by their favourite characters and stories, and took part in a range of fun and engaging activities.

As part of a whole-school project, pupils explored the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’, taking part in themed sessions and creating boxes to represent their favourite books. Classrooms were buzzing with creativity and excitement about reading.

Reading plays an important role in school life, helping to develop imagination, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Events like World Book Day are a brilliant way to celebrate books and encourage everyone to enjoy reading.

Well done to all the pupils and staff who got involved in making the day so special!
