Mrs Whelan
Hello and welcome to Creative Crocodiles. This year you will have two teachers Mrs May and Mrs Whelan and we are both looking forward to the year ahead. We can’t wait to start our new learning journey with you and have lots of exciting things planned.
Meet your teachers
Mrs may
Hello, my name is Mrs May and I will be your Year 2 teacher on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I have been teaching at Rawmarsh Sandhill for over 25 years so may have taught your brothers or sisters or even some of your parents!
I have two grown up boys and a guinea pig called Fred. When I am not at school, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy going to the theatre, watching sports and going out for meals. I can’t wait to meet you all and start our learning journey together.
Mrs Whelan
Hello, my name is Mrs Whelan and I will be your Year 2 teacher on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
I have 6 children – 4 girls and 2 boys. I also have 4 beautiful granddaughters. The youngest is 2 months old! I have 2 cats, Patsy who is 2 years old and Percy who is 8 months old. My favourite food is Italian. I love ANYTHING that sparkles or is glittery! My favourite animal is a flamingo. When I am not at school I love spending time with my family, sewing, making cakes and decorating them. The thing I like love doing most is curling up with a good book! I am so excited to start our learning journey together!
Meet your teaching assistant
Mrs Woodhall
Hello my name is Miss Woodhall. I joined Rawmarsh Sandhill Primary School in February 2024.
Outside of school I like listening to music, reading and singing. My favourite subjects are Art and English. I am very excited to work with you and see you overcome challenges and help you achieve your goals!

We will reward you with Dojo points for STAR sitting , following the Sandhill ways and always trying your best. Each week one of you will earn our ‘Star of the Week’ trophy and one of you will earn the ‘Headteacher’s award ‘ and take home our class mascot for a weekend adventure. We would like you to bring your reading folder to school everyday and reading books will be changed weekly. Please can you log when you read at home using boomreader so you can earn an extra playtime reward. We will share class updates and what we have been learning using our class dojo.. Our PE days will be posted on there once confirmed but we find it easier if children bring PE kits to school on a Monday and take home on a Friday.
