On Wednesday 2nd July, our Year 1 and Year 2 children enjoyed an exciting trip to Cleethorpes as part of their history topic on the Victorian seaside.
Despite the gloomy weather, the children’s enthusiasm shone through! They spent the day spotting key Victorian features such as the train station, the pier, and the promenade, bringing their classroom learning to life in a real-world setting. The highlight of the day was a traditional Victorian pastime – sandcastle building on the beach, followed by a well-deserved ice cream treat!
The children represented the school wonderfully throughout the visit, showing curiosity, respect, and fantastic behaviour.
This trip was a fantastic example of how we bring learning to life through experiences beyond the classroom. As part of the Wickersley Partnership Trust’s Enrichment Promise, we’re committed to providing all students with memorable opportunities that broaden their horizons, and support both personal growth and academic development.
Well done to all of our young historians – what a wonderful day of learning and adventure!
