In the spring term, our learning will include a range of genres and texts in English. These include playscripts (Johnny and the Dead), discussion texts, narratives and formal letters. We should capture some really interesting writing this term.
In Maths, we will be covering everybody’s dreaded topic – ALGEBRA! I think we this will be a really engaging and enjoyable experience. Following algebra, we will be moving on to converting measures and ratio.
In history we will be covering a range of crime and punishment throughout the ages in Britain. We will be exploring historical methods of punishment and getting an understanding of how these have developed over time right up to modern day.
Geography will see us developing our continued understanding of the climate and some democratic studies of the commonwealth and regions beyond Europe.
In wider curriculum areas such as French, PSHE and Computing will continue our progression of skills in engaging and innovative ways to elicit progress and enjoyment.
We recommend bringing your PE kit on a Monday and leaving it at school for the whole week. We will remind you to take it home on Fridays too! During Year 6, we will continue to develop our independence as we prepare for SATs and the exciting prospect of secondary school. This means that we will have much more responsibility around school including playground buddies, lunchtime assistants and other roles. Most days you will find us working incredible hard as we prepare for SATs. We are straight on task as soon as we arrive in a morning to support our progress! Our break time is at 10:45 each day and lunch starts for us at 12:00.
